Sample List of Materials for Ohio Notification

The following is a sample list of materials required to be sent with your intent to homeschool notification letter for Ohio. This is the actual list I send with my notification each school year. You'll note I choose not to go into specific detail as to what textbooks and curricula we will be using. I believe in providing the bare minimum as required by law and for us this has sufficed. Feel free to use this example as a basis for your own list, but please do not copy it on the internet without first asking permission.



(7) List of textbooks, correspondence courses, commercial curricula, or other basic teaching materials that the parent intends to use for home education. Such list is for informational purposes only.

• Computer, printer, and scanner
• Basic office materials, such as paper, stapler, pens, and pencils, etc.
• Varied art materials to be applied across the curriculum, such as construction paper and other varied papers, scissors, glue, tempera paints, paintbrushes, watercolors, oil pastels, markers, crayons, colored pencils, play dough, modeling clay, salt dough, clay, poster board, etc
• A vast array of books and reading materials on topics in all required subjects; textbooks, workbooks reference, fiction, non-fiction, biographic, and circulating, available from our home library as well as the public library
• Globe
• Maps
• Atlases
• Magnets
• Microscope
• Thermometers
• Math manipulatives
• CD-ROMs

• DVDs
• Cable channels, such as PBS, Animal Planet, History channel, Science channel, Planet Green, etc
